ZooeyAgro

Zooey Agro was born in 1989 in Berlin. After playing in self-managed bands from the age of 13, she studied jazz singing at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover, then earned a master’s degree in composition and arrangement at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB).

She later returned to Berlin, where she currently plays in three bands: 13YC, rahel&zooey, and tba tbc, as well as in the choir Carebender. She tours across Europe and North America with these groups, and as a keyboardist in Anika’s live band.

As a composer and sound designer, she has collaborated with Schauspiel Dortmund, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Bürgerbühne Dresden, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Dampfzentrale Bern, KLAP Marseille, among others. With several years of teaching experience in singing, she often takes on the dual role of composer and vocal coach, supporting performers in the process of becoming musicians themselves.

She co-directs the label and concert series subsidized time, with four album releases and regular events in Berlin each year.
