Choreographer and artistic director of the artistic association Unplush since its creation in 2015, Marion Zurbach's work focuses on the creation of choreographic works and performances. She explores dance practice in relation to research in ethology, philosophy of science and speculative narrative.
Marion began her training at the École Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille and then at the École Atelier Rudra Béjart. From 2003 to 2015, she worked, among others, with the Ballet National de Marseille and the Tanz Compagnie Konzert Theater Bern.
In 2018, Marion finished her master’s degree in theatre and performance at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). In 2019, Unplush received the June Johnson Dance Price (Swiss Dance Awards 2019).
Since 2019, Marion regularly accompanies artists and productions as a choreographer for the Opera Cologne 2019, Theater Luzern 2022, Subsistances 2024, as a dramaturge for the Urban Dansdagen Festival Eindhoven 2019, Tankstelle Südpol Luzern 2023, and as a dancer for Boris Charmatz' Sea Change MIF Manchester 2022.
