MattiaPetullà

Mattia Petullà was born in Catanzaro. He graduates in Communication and Media Research. In 2001 he is one of the participants of “OrfeoTv”, a “MediaCtivism” project. During this experience he trains shooting and editing in the era of transition to digital videos. In 2004 he works with the authors of a dance video performance inspired by video-activism and presented in Berlin at the Transmedial Festival and in 2006 he's co-author of the installation “Metamedium” at the Centre of contemporary art in Rotterdam.

In 2007 he starts working with the independent production company Elenfant Film as director, editor and director of photography. Along with Adam Selo he leaves for Mexico where he is in charge of the photography for the documentary “Playing Maruata” and the short movie “Ramiro”. As an editor he works on various projects, from the documentary “Medusa”, produced by Maxman, to the medium-lenght film “Mesmer Vacuum” by Teatrino Clandestino. Between 2008 and 2009 he directs his first short movie “La conquista dell’America”, selected at the 27th Torino Film Festival 2009 and at Visioni Italiane 2010. In 2012 he directs “E Berta filava”, short film winner of the Riace Festival in 2012 and selected in several festivals worldwide, among which Tous Courts in Aix en Provence. At the moment he lives in Bruxelles and he works at his first full length movie “LAND IN SIGHT”, produced by CVB – Centre Vidéo de Bruxelles.
