When the Flipper tv series ended, the dolphin Kathy was discarded and sent to an amusement park in a much too small water container. There, according to the speculation of her former trainer Richard O’Barry, she took her own life.

40 years after Kathy’s death, the dance performance group UNPLUSH takes up this topic and presents the piece "FLIPPER". The piece aims to shed light on the involvement of the different characters in Kathy’s tragedy, staging three performers who play the roles of Kathy, Rick O’Barry and the investigator. Through various hypotheses about the real or fictional cycle of events, the piece gets hold of and frees the audience from their illusions.
